BIOGRAPHY
Sarah J. Moore was born in 1986 in LaGrande, Oregon. She lives and works in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Sarah’s artistic achievements began in her early teenage years. In 2003 she won a National Patriotic Art Scholarship, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. Subsequently, in 2004, she received an Artistic Merit Scholarship from Studio Art Centers International, (SACI) Florence, Italy, and she began her advanced art education in the heart of the Renaissance. While in Italy, Sarah discovered her love for sculpture. In 2005, Sarah continued her fine art education at North Idaho College, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. When offered the opportunity to work at Cire-Perdue Casting, Inc., a local fine art bronze foundry, Sarah dove in. She worked with Cire-Perdue for three years, becoming well-versed in the foundry processes, and an expert mold maker, and sculptor. It was during this time that Sarah also began working with a group of Northwest artists, drawing, painting, and sculpting from the figure on a weekly basis.
Sarah is now a young figurative sculptor with an expanding portfolio. Through her sculpture, Sarah strives to capture the grace of the human form, as well as the immaterial beauty of human intuition and emotion. Recently accepted into the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Sarah plans on returning to school in the fall of 2011 to pursue a BFA in Sculpture from the oldest fine art academy and museum in the nation!
